Merry Christmas, gentle reader. Hope Santa brought you everything you wanted.
Merry Christmas, gentle reader. Hope Santa brought you everything you wanted.
It is snowing hard enough right now to make road travel dangerous and implausible. No matter, however, since I my face is so sore from the extraction of my wisdom teeth that I won’t be going out anytime soon. Also, the power went out for a couple hours today again. Ugh, what a shitty way to spend the holidays.
Mmmm, snowboarding today was awesome—three feet of powder! Three feet! I’m sore as hell at the moment, and my wisdom teeth are scheduled to be wrenched from my head tomorrow morning, but I’m already itching to go again.
Note: users of the slang “pow pow” should be slapped.
Goddamnit. The power has been out since Sunday—it just came on, and I’m having a little quality time with my brother’s computer. I should go to bed though, I’ve got a full day of snowboarding ahead of me tomorrow. I’m still pissed about this electricity thing though. I’ve been living in a cold, dark hell for far too long. It was a nice “welcome home,” however. Damn Nevada City.
I’m leaving for the airport in a few minutes and I’m not bringing my computer home with me—scary prospect. Don’t expect too many updates while I’m gone, but don’t worry, I’ll be back on campus January 6th. Ciao!
I’m finally breathing again now that all my finals are done, but here I am stuck at work until 6pm. My flights leaves at 4:55pm tomorrow, then I’ll be having some fun and spending the night in Davis. San Diego people: it’s only one night, I promise! Don’t be mad!
As much as I love my Histories of Photography class, this essay is really just rubbing me the wrong. Anyone feel like comparing and contrasting Walker Evans (of Let Us Now Praise Famous Men fame) with John Heartfield (usually associated with Arbeiter-Illustrierte-Zeitung) and their use and views of social documentary photography for me? Didn’t think so.
I just added another 35 cover images to the pool, and boy are they hot. Now it’s time to skate. I’ll worry about studying for finals tomorrow.
Believe it or not, I just got back from a Sum41 concert. They played tonight in Freeborn Hall on campus. Sum41 put on a very good show with plenty of energy for everyone. Sadly though I did not make it all the way to the front, for I had to be careful that my fragile body was not crushed under the weight of the undulate crowd.
10th week normally carries the nickname “Dead Week” because professors rarely assign anything new and lectures are often become reviews for finals. My Dead Week started out by staying up all night finishing an essay due Monday at 9am followed the next day (that’s today, brainiac) by my VA158 prof. dispensing an essay assignment due the day of our final. Ugh.
