Waiting

Mike, 24 February 2005

So I’m standing here, standing because there are no more seats left, in a computer lab on campus waiting for my paper to print out. I can’t believe that it’s literally going to take about 10 minutes for me to get out of here.

Alright, so I haven’t been posting at all lately. I promise I’ll fill you all in on my wonderfully exciting, homework filled life later, becuase right now I have to sprint to my next class.

Inspiration

Andy, 22 February 2005

I forgot the words of Mark Twain. I let school get in the way of my education. I wonder if I’ll ever make something to be proud of.

Thanks, Jonathan Harris, for showing me what achievement looks like.

Preparing for Exit

Andy, 11 February 2005

The last two weeks have been filled with papers, projects and midterm exams, but I’ve got some breathing room now and I can finally feel the muscles in my back start to loosen up. It’d definitely not cool to basically have a two-week long backache. Stupid stress.

Mike and I are kicking around the idea of a redesign here at Duolab, but I’m still at the stage where I’m fooling around with CSS and HTML to reaquaint myself with modern W3C standards (no more table layouts, oh crap). Knowing the speed at which we tackle things, I’d say expect to see some changes come Winter of 2007.

I’m super poor right now and am trying to both save up for the down payment on a (used) car and retrofit my trashbox desktop comp, so while everyone else is planning awesome spring break trips, I’m planning on staying in San Diego and working on making my portfolio presentable and finally organizing my twenty or thirty gigs of MP3s. How sad. Anyone want to come visit me out here? I promise it will be sunny and we will be drunk.

Speaking of sunny weather, it’s actually raining right now. It had been really nice out for a week or two, but now the sky has opened up and is dumping sheets of water on all the poor UCSD kids still wearing their thin sweatshirts and flip flops. As if I needed an excuse to stay indoors all weekend. (Aw, sad face.)

I’m seeing the Killers in April and the Secret Machines in the next couple weeks. Also, it will be less than three weeks until I’m officially an Old Person. What should I do to celebrate? A Metamucil-and-Tums-themed party?
